I Cried

The very first time I saw you
I caught my breath in a sigh,
And when you said you loved me,
Tears of disbelief I cried.

With our very first kiss
When you pressed your sweet lips to mine,
I felt my heart go soaring,
And tears of joy I cried.

On our special day
When I held your hand in mine
And placed a ring of gold upon your finger,
Tears of love and devotion I cried.

As we began our life together
Walking proudly side by side,
As a family, starting our own journey,
Tears of dedication I cried.

The day that you told me
That you felt you'd lived a lie,
You'd mistaken friendship for love,
Tears of sadness I cried.

When I fell to my knees
Begging you to stay in my life,
But you just turned and walked away,
From the depths of my soul…I cried.

and I am all the better for it~

Julie Ann~
Thank you, my dear, for the kind words.  Sometimes the greatest experiences come from the ones with the greatest sorrow!

Eloise~
Thank you.  I am glad that you enjoyed it, dear.

JanetMarie~
Dearest, the only thing that my heart has learned is how to be honest.  I am so glad that you read and liked this one.  I think that this is a "cleansing" for me, in a way; it's time to take a breath, close my eyes, and take that first step forward, even though this was all 2 years behind me.  Sometimes time is all you have, and sometimes that time makes all the difference.  Thank you kind friend!

Love Ya~

Take that step forward and keep on cleansing.  Your pen reflects your pain well.
Loved it.

Mark~
Thank you again, my friend!  It felt kinda good to write this one, although it isn't like what I usually write.  It feels good to release these old feelings once in a while, though.  Thank you for reading, and I am glad you enjoyed it!

Terry such a beautiful poem, with such a heartbreaking ending.  I am truly sorry.  Keep writing these gems and it will slowly but surely help you to rid yourself of all the pain.

Take care,

A beautiful poem. I liked the way you kept repeating how you cried. It emphasized greatly how you loved this person so much and wonderfully illustrated your pain when love was lost. Great work, touching.

From the depths of ones soul comes forth true emotion. Only through these times of heartache and pain can we really understand what true love really is.

Terry, I know from experience that things do get better in time. You will never forget this painful memory but in the end yopu'll be all the better because of it.

Take care,
Jeffrey

TerryW~

I believe that tears of joy are the sweetest tears we can shed - and then the tears of sorrow have a path all their own ...
but, I do believe they come to dilute our sorrow until we can surface again.

*Hugs* to you, sweetie.
I honor a man - who acknowledges his tears.

I believe that things happen for a reason and that reason can be simply a growing that takes place, even sad things and tears are teachers.  Well written heart felt piece, Terry...I wish you well.

Terry, I'm so sorry for you, I can't say that I know how this feels, I've also been on the other end of it, you expressed it beautifully.  Gods speed.

Guys~
Thank you so much for all the words of love and encouragement.  Believe me, there was a time when I didn't think I would make it.  But because of friends like you guys, and with the help of a little time, I have finally gotten to the point where I am happy with my life, with myself, and I wouldn't change anything for the world.  Thank you all so much!

Love Ya~

Words read, felt, float, haunt. Your poem is beautiful in the tragedy of its (your) expression. Thank you for sharing such intimate thoughts.

Terry, I almost missed this.  I am so glad I didn't.  This is wonderful writing my friend.  They say that emotions make for great poetry.......I believe in this case it most be true.  Such sadness, but another lesson unfortunitly learned for both of you.
