Love Me Today Love me today As the wings of yesterday grazing our lips flutter into the past Captivating the dreams we once held so close Transforming them into shadows that fill our nights with constant mocking Love me today While the pleasures of the present engulf us Seizing our souls from within Materializing them into a tangible, caressable form Love me today As the mysteries of tomorrow confound you and I Evaporating the ideas and fantasies we have incorporated into ourselves Naively believing the future holds something special for us Love me today Two specks of sand making their final decent through the hourglass of time Rubbing their textured bodies against each other Reflecting on the way things used to be Love me today Before the seal between our lips collapses Awakening me and I am forced to say no Just love me, while you still have the change |

I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words that were expressed concerning my poem. It is those words that allow people to want to write more. Thanks again for all the love. Rupert |
