Mother Earth - Father Sky
~*Marge Tindal*~

Shyly she peeks from her bed
seeking the dew of the morn
knowing that he is bathing her
in the sunshine of his adorn

From on high he watches
as she dresses for the morning
sending the light from his eyes
to the glow of her adorning

On her shouldering mountains
a meadowlark in song
filling the valley below
with a morning sing-a-long

He sends to her soft breezes
to carry songs across the land
watches as the rivers flow
with just the touch of her hand

She looks to the skies in awe
knowing he is there
sending down the gentle rains
filling the crevices that she wears

He sometimes covers her playground
with deepening shadows of gray
serving as a respite
shading the heat of day

She pirouettes in colors
proudly across the land
knowing that he sends
the seasons gently from his hand

When day is done he sends
the moon to set her aglow
with stars aplenty
crossing the sky just so

She smiles in easy shadows
glistening with the beams
knowing he set the stars
to twinkle in her dreams

Mother Earth - Father Sky
gloriously wed
Tread her trails lightly
then lift your head

You will have envisioned
the greatest dance of time
Mother Earth - Father Sky
Caught in the rhythm of rhyme

God has made the marriage
to last until time slips away
Mother Earth for a lifetime
Father Sky for always
