My friend challenged me to use " What Once was Lost"
in a poem... so here it is.

What Once was Lost

Within the moonlight of my mind
buried deep inside you will find
Memories of what once was lost
Stubborn, we both wore the cost

Of hearts fading and losing glow
The dying colours of our rainbow
Days of wondering who was wrong?
Of a love we thought was strong

And as beautiful as our love was
That path we weren't meant to cross
Though the hands of time have wound
Because of what once was lost
A new friendship we have found

Angel of Darkness
July 2000

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died,
and I though alive, feel dead inside.

"Rose Petal"

A challenge answered in fine style. This one has touched me deeply, it may well be the best of your work I have seen.

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown
