Something Wonderful Will Happen (This poem was written for a dear friend You know who you are) It will happen without warning some day very soon As sure as there’s a Mississippi and an August moon As sure as whippoorwill keeps singing his familiar tune Something very wonderful is bound to happen soon Life will be much happier and much better by and by Just as the stars and stripes fly much more proudly in July As sure as there’s a Southern Cross up in the southern sky The one true love your looking for will never pass you by You’re much to young to worry about the one love that is true All the things you know about will some day come to you Just wait a little longer and I promise this to you. When you’re a woman, you will know a love you never knew Just concentrate on all the things that you’re required to do Your success in all this learning time will somehow see you through Then one day in the future when you least expect him to He’ll walk into you life and he will give his heart to you As sure as there’s a Southern Cross up in the southern sky You’ll fall in love one day, without even knowing why Elizabeth Santos |
