In the space between moments

Snow whispers softly fly
'Pon rivers of icy breath...
Time trickles silver-blue
Speaking quietly of death...

Frozen earth lays barren
Like the meadows of my soul...
Ghosts of sunshine weep
While muted emptiness grows...

Myriad dewdrops fill the sky
And sleep with velvet night...
Almost can I see your eyes
Shimmering among their light...

Yet Heaven gives no sign of you
O'er this stretch of white...
And alone among the pearled drifts
I cry for you tonight...

The snow whispers of my past
And numbs me to the core...
Lost within the clouds of ice
My heart dreams nevermore...

Krista:

This is a beautifully expressed poem, chilling and very sad to read.  The last stanza just grabbed hold of me, I know all too well how it feels.  Excellent piece as always

Take care,

A beautiful, sorrowful poem..

"Myriad dewdrops fill the sky
And sleep with velvet night...
Almost can I see your eyes
Shimmering among their light..."

"The snow whispers of my past
And numbs me to the core...
Lost within the clouds of ice
My heart dreams nevermore..."

Now in my mind, those verses are ones that imprint themselves upon your soul, a capture of emotion, of life... Loved this much, dearie

Beautiful though sad. Well concieved images of the down side portrayed with the comfort of metaphorical release.

Brought a tear to my eye, this one is cold and sad and hauntingly beautiful at the same time.
