Holographic Fish Animals from every place Parading at an animal’s pace A tall man stands with smiling face And watches them march into space And there’s an ancient castle tall With cut out squares atop the wall But soon it crumbles down and falls A fragile castle’s cut out walls Exotic fish are swimming through In iridescent shades of blue Like holographic shining hues A most exquisite water view The stage turns gold, but not for long The animals and fish are gone But now a maiden dressed in pink Is bowing to a king, I think Now she’s a rose in flower bed As pink turns to magenta red And now she’s gone into the blue The king and castle vanished, too The sun is fading in the west I think I watched the very best A show of clouds went slowly past As I lay watching in the grass Elizabeth Santos |

Almost like watching a short story! Great Imagery. jamie Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito. - Virgil. "Yield thou not to adversity, but press on the more bravely". |

Beautiful, Liz! A perfect description of the beautiful images that can be created within one's mind. "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde "The robbed that smiles steals something from the thief" -Shakespea |

For me it was always dinosaurs. Funny how, as a boy, I would lay in a field of grass watching the clouds and now I lay in a field of grass watching out for insects and checking for snakes...so sad ;( |

Oh, Lizzie~ One of my favorite pastimes ! I've been known to not only lay in the grass to watch but to pull off the highway and stand in awe at the parade in the sky. Thanks for posting this delight. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Why does this poem remind me of the scene from rumble fish with the fish tank, the whole film is in black and white, the only colour is the fish in the tank. MUst be the vibrant colours in your poem. Anyway ranting here, Exotic fish are swimming through In iridescent shades of blue Like holographic shining hues A most exquisite water view The stage turns gold, but not for long The animals and fish are gone But now a maiden dressed in pink Is bowing to a king, I think Now she’s a rose in flower bed As pink turns to magenta red And now she’s gone into the blue The king and castle vanished, too beautifully written Liz, wonderful. A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry |

A wonderful poem, describing a wonderful pass time! Love and hugs, Lizzie "Poetry is the true expression of my soul, it is my ultimate means of communication. It is my rainbow of delight." |

Excellent Elizabeth! One of my favorite pastimes too, though I tend to always see rabbits, and dogs, and anything furry my mind dreams up ... loved the sentiments here! Best wishes, /Kit |
