"Death be not proud" A broken I lay on the ground As we all open our hearts, mine is empty all round and within. They stare at me with beedy eyes and curled lips I quiver beneath their hidious gazes and cruel snarles. They remind of death the object that I have come to know well through my horried child hood and adolencense I grind my teeth and pray that death will come take me away tonight The walls start to close in on me their faces become ghostly and I, become quivering flesh I look at them and I feel wrong all over i shouldnt be cowaring i yell at death's face "death be not proud" I feel proud and i feel strong *john donne's death be not proud was used for the this poem,"death be not be not proud"* |
