Goodbye Friend...(a repost of one of my first poems)

*This is dedicated to my best boy Pat..who would probably kill me if he knew I wrote "mushy stuff" about him.*

The day I got the news,
We were going to move AGAIN,
I couldn't believe my ears,
My life as I knew it would end.

I'd been there for five years.
Why did it have to come to this.
Do they ever think of my feelings
Or all the friends that I would miss?

I tried think positively,
Not of the things that I held dear.
As I looked at the town fading,
I shed a single tear.

Now I was here,
A new kid in a small town
Its hard to make new friends,
With barely anyone around.

Then one day the light shone on me.
It's the day I first met you.
We just happeneed to click,
Forming a friendship so true.

Now you tell me you're leaving.
How could you do this to me!
Friends 'till the end,
Thats how it was supposed to be.

I need you in my life.
How can you say goodbye.
You expect me to be strong,
So I am glad you can't see me cry.

As these tears keep flowing,
Like a river, without end.
I remember all the good times
With my best, best friend.

I can't help but smile then,
At the crazy things we do,
It'll be hard not to think "us"
It's just "me" with out you.

So I will be strong, friend.
Do as you tell me to.
But don't make this Goodbye,
Just say See ya later, I love you.

wonderful, sweet post...your friend is very lucky to have you....i'm sure he won't mind the mushy stuff later on!

this isnt mushy...its a friend telling someone good bye and that you love them...and you wrote it very well!!!
