There's a trial going on
And I'm caught up in the middle,
My mind says,"Just dismiss the case"
My heart-"hold out for acquittal."

She was the girl of my dreams
Became my heart's desire,
Unlike the others that I've known
She set my heart on fire.

For a while all was going well
Things worked out like a movie,
Then she said, "We're in a rut!"
(I thought things were groovy.)

My heart says don't lose her
For she is the one!
My mind says why bother--
She took away my fun!

Deep down I have feelings for her
Why must she make such waves?
So my mind tells me, I can do better
Just her float away.

The jury is still out
But the matter's decided,
And the tug of war goes on
Between heart and mind ununited.

She said "We are history!"
But my heart said --ignor
She's on moved without me in her life--
It doesn't matter no more.

I seek to be me-
and all I can be!

Wow! A great poem, you should have had this one considered for the book. I know I would have voted for it.
What a great idea to join both a legal trial and the trials of love together.
It's great and I love it.
I'm glad that I can be the first one to post a reply.

You definately have a talent for writing and you should keep it up.

I hope that you will one day find that someone that can make you happy.

Your thoughts fit perfectly into your trial analogy. AT times we all feel like this but it is how we truly deal with it that determines the verdict.
