Why do parents change so much? Supposedly they're grown-ups already, But I've seen them greatly change As if for me, they weren't ready! They used to really Pamper me (Or Huggies--did they use?) They loved all of my antics They thought it all was so cute. But as I got some older They changed their mind instead, No longer did I amuse them-- They sent me off to bed! They've gone from proud loving parents To ceaseless critics and frantics, Where is the proud young couple Who did so love my antics? Why do they hate the thought of fun That their son could be having? And as they cause me endless painless pain-- Inwardly, are they laughing??? Why do parents change so much? Just why all the constant hazing? From all the changes that they have made You'd think it was them, I was raising!!! I seek to be me- and all I can be! |

I feel ya. Parents are crazy. They say one thing, then do the other. I've given up on trying to figure mine out. Good luck with yours. Great poem, by the way. "Everything happens for a reason!" |

Thank you for the smile Euclid the Kid!  This poem had a wonderful flow and rhyming scheme, and a great touch of humour! I don't think any of us ever stop learning and growing up, but you sound like a very astute and talented person, so your parents have definately done something right! Listen man first of all great poem, but parents well they are not criticizing what you do they are only rying to teach my parents are the same way and since iam the only son well I am always the one in trouble, but hey just talk to them pen up, let your emotion run through their ears aswell as their souls |
