I wish for the day
my life can be my own
not answerable to my dad
But as a master of my world.

I envision a time
when I can be in charge
giving others orders
demanding their respect.

A chance to show my stuff
and chart my course anew
unhindered by those who "love" me'
yet relinquish not the choker-chain.

I wish for the day
Too long it has been night
it should be coming 'round soon--
I hope I don't oversleep!
