I was going to keep this poem to myself, but I figured alot of kid's these days go through divorce and I could share my experience with it. Seventeen years this June And you can just throw it away. You want her out of your sight, And for me not to stay. It is natural for me to place blame, Where it does not belong. That is on myself, Though I did nothing wrong. You may not love her, but don't take it out on me. I am yur only daughter, And I will always be. You're pushing me away Pops. Why can't you see? Just because you can't get along, You can stil love me. I will always be your blood, Some thing just can't change. But if you want me out, That I can arrange. It's not my fault Dad, That you don't love her. But what about me, Why do I have to suffer? So I am going with her, Leaving our relationship to fate, Though you may never change, Never get over your misplaced hate. |

You have expressed so well, the emotions that so many children suffer through divorce. I do hope you will be able to share these heartfelt feelings with your father. Very well written and hugs to you! Best wishes, /Kit |

I definitely understand where you are coming from. It's sad but there are more disfunctional families in this country than there are functional ones. Keep your head up and remember that its up to us to mend the mistakes our parents have made. For if we make the same ones, then we really do have ourselves to blame. jason |
