Standing, Peeling off my skin in front of this hateful mirror. So many layers, So much inside. I’m stark naked in front of myself, Forcing my weary eyes to look upon This innocent child, This dreadful beast, This vulnerable human. I am an infant, So naïve in mind and body, Not knowing the purpose of My world, My existence. Smiling when they smile. Why? Not because I’m happy -- It’s just what I do To get by. I am a monster. Too hideous for friends, Too ignorant to open this steel door, Beating my thighs, my stomach, My heart, With clenched fists, Trying to create something -- To reshape this beast staring at me By carving with a knife. I am a human being. I see my core and I cringe At what I have become, I want to lay down this guilt, this pride, And collapse at my own feet And beg for forgiveness. LOOK—look at what I’ve done to you, To me; These scars all up and down MY body, These bones within MY skin Creaking and straining, As this heart tries so hard, Just to pump One more time, For ME. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry for what I’ve put you through. You are so fragile, So precious. But I didn’t see it before. You are not a child, You are not a beast, I am a strong young woman, And I have beauty in my heart. *Jennifer |

FIRST OF ALL, WELCOME TO PASSIONS!!! OMG!!! Your poem is so powerfull. I could see the hurt/pain you're going thru. You really were able to put your feelings in words really good. One thing though, at least now you know and admit the mistake you've done. That is a start to moving on. Stay strong  If you need people to talk to, everyone hear in passions usually has an ear to lend  You do have to return it though Thanks for the wonderful read I see no changes, wake up in the morning I ask myself, "Is life worth living or should I blast myself" TUPAC SHAKUR |

First off, acire's freaky little cat icon scares me. Second off, Welcome to Passions. Third off, The poem showed complete pain and power in emotion. This was very powerful! I liked it a lot and the positivity at the end is great. Keep posting!  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them! |

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your comments! And vlraynes.. thanks for the card! I like it here at passions already.. everyone has made me feel so welcome. Thanks!
