Nothings as it appears to be,
Nothings as it seems.
No longer having to care,
To most is just a dream.
Depression is a dungeon,
In which you become entrapped.
Over a course of time,
Oddly enough you become attached.
Attached to the life,
With a smoke screen,
In front of your eyes.
A time when,
Instead of living,
You'd almost rather die.
You look at the world,
With maroon colored shades,
Are constantly lost,
In your anti-reality daze.
How can people like depression,
Is what most want to know
Why dont people get help,
Why dont others let it show?
The hurt doesnt sting as much,
You learn not to care.
You have a heart that beats,
But your feelings are bare.
I gave this up,
Most feel i've gained.
In my opinion i lost out,
On a sturdy terrain.
Got medicine,
To make me glad.
Take away my feelings,
Fix my sad.
Reality aint all its cracked up to be,
I thought i'd like,
This new feeling of "happy",
But i miss feeling sad,
Is that wrong,
Is that bad?
Its a feeling of comfort,
Not having to care.
No one effected me,
No one had to be there.
But im living a new life,
And pushing this in the past,
I just hope for once,
This new found happiness,
Will last.

Oh babe i hope your new happiness lasts. Cause everyone is so much more pleasant when they are happy. And you can feel the same way...not caring about anything and still be happy because you're just living for you and not anyone else. But i hope it lasts cause i like to see people smile

You've expressed your emotions very well in this Shugar, many deep thoughts to ponder in this lovely piece. I have a family member going through a similar situation as this ... and he told me not long ago how good it was to "feel" again. It took him a little while to get there too, but it's been so rewarding for him ... so keep hanging in there!

Wow. The way you express how depression is just really seemed great to me. I mean, depression isn't great, but how you described it was. Your words are awesome. And I hope happiness does last for you!

That was amazing.
I feel the same way. It's like being depressed is solace to your mind because once you're so low... nothing can hurt you.

This is a start for you. And stop thinking of how it is to feel sad again and how much you miss it. People are trying to help you. Your family is, aren't they? I don't understand depression, I'm no shrink, but what a friend of mine did when she was mad was throw an egg in the tub. She said it helped a lot. Try it. I just hate to see people sad. Now, I'm glad that your in the path to being happy again.
