As you all know...I don't ever repost my work...right now is a VERY difficult time for me and amidst my sorrw I must find some strength to continue to tomorrow...this helps and I just wanted to repost it. Hope you all don't mind... A selfish hand holing an unforgiving knife Cutting, so eagerly awaiting and end to all this strife The bittersweet pain stung my tearfilled eyes As I quickly scribbled my last good-byes Burning tears flowed so easily to the floor It didn't really hurt, my heart just let out a silent roar Crimson drops now fell to a scary red pool I remember it like yesterday, the air outside was so cool This was it, I was starting to feel faint The carpet now satuarated in this ugly red paint The next thing I remember-waking up in a hospital bed I guess I got lucky--at least that's what the doctors said Mom's eyes and ocean full of pain and tears They were all coming true; a parent's worst fears I'm sorry mom, I dodn't m,ean to make you cry I just truly deep inside really wanted to die It was nothing you did, you were the perfect mom Inside my heart was a ticking time bomb Daddy hurt me very much when he left, you see And with out my little family by my side I just wasn't me The pain inside was way too intense How could he just give me up?!!? It didnt make sense I'm still your little girl mommy, and I always will be I guess they were right mom, I did get lucky! Thank you all for reading! wow. this was really intense did it actualy happen? if so im glad you "got lucky" other wise we would have never been blessed with your wonderful poetry!your work is always awsome ilove reading it and remeebr time heals all wounds even a broken heart! so keep smiling things will get better!! You are an excellent writer youself! ad as for getting lucky, I'm glad I did too. Yes this is a true story. hey jess, well i remeber you eading this to me in school when we were great friedns,..... and i cnat tell you how happy i am you are ok.... i am very sorry we werent friend when this happened !! you know i would have been there for you!! but we met to late... but plese never do anything like this again!!! iam always here to talk to !!! i love you girl!! and even though were not going to the same school... im still here by tyou rside everyday!!k? and i know your by mine!! when i said all that stuff the other day.... it amde me realize just how much everyone doess care!! and imglad i didnt do anything dumb to myself!! thankyou for being here so i didnt make the same mistake ... cuz i might not have been lucky like you!! i love you jess!! love janette<~~ netta p.s. i hope you and chris do better i only wish the best for you!! and what ever that migth be o be it !! I think you are about the only one I can talk to about Chris with out hearing "get over him" or "you can do better, don't waste your time" because the truth is I don't want to do better I love him! But you are the only one who understands that! Thank you soo much for keepin with me through this all! I seriously think if I didn't have you through all of this, I would be very very depressed and seriously screwed right now! As for not going to the same school, I'm going to yours and you're going to mine! I'll always be by your side whether it be physically or just mentally. So do not worry about that ok? and since I'm always by your side, you should probably shower with your clothes on!  You're the best girl! I Love you! Jess, I love your poem. I have a poem that I wrote a few years ago quite similar to this one and as soon as I fix my printer I'm gonna print this out so my boyfriend can read it. It would explain things to him that I don't think I can. I'm glad you re posted it because I didn't get to read it the first time it was up. Unfortunatly, not everyone gets lucky. Well, just thought you might like to know that your poem brought tears to my eyes and I've felt the same way. The reassurances of my boyfriend helped loads and I like this poem bundles. Allysa Don't wander throught this glassy surface, expecting to find more than me, because what I am without a purpose, but a lone mirage to see. |

Ah.... must say this was great poem....very well written and strong, but your message was the thing that made it so heartfelt. That must have been such a tough situation you were in....and it's a really grand person that gets through all of it and comes out to tell her story.....very beautiful. Salma |

Wow...this is an incredible poem. It brought tears to my eyes with each line i read. It was so intense and it brought visual pictures to my mind. It was so well written. That was such an amazing poem. |

And as you say, not everyone does get lucky, and that makes me think about how sad it is b/c I know how truly happy I am that I did. Although I didn't think about it at the time. I'm happy my poem moved so much emotion in you...that's what wrioting is for...right?Salma~This one came straight from the heart and couldn't be more real. And it was a tough situation! Hey again chica! Yep my eyes are burning, but I'm a "tough girl" so I can't cry right? lol! I can't say I've been through the same thing, but I can say that as for going through a tough time, as you know, I know the feeling. I know everything happens for a reason, and in the end it all works out in some way or another, and you just gotta remember that. Keep your chin up Bel |
