Hey! I haven't posted in a long time, due to some more of that awful writers block! I'm back, as horrible as ever! (So, I apologize.. lol) Vreni Naiveté Inadequate, I drown in a burgeoning pool of self -pity Dirt of failure smudged on my face, cold and gritty Deflowered of innocence by naiveté itself Raped of hope by thoughts created by myself. As I slip beneath the surface of my sanity, I glimpse my reflection, that of mortal vanity. My mind wanders through my previous years, Laughs at my downfall, makes mockery of my fears. It was I that believed a credo of ultimate acquittal Masquerading the truth with a mask far too brittle. Humanity's inherent goodness I held dear to my core, Misfortunes woe to prove this lie to be of yester yore. Aye, yes, the mistakes of unadulterated youth, To give credence to that which has no proof. Alas, dark realization fell in a torrential rain, My enthusiastic optimism can no longer be feigned. |

Intriguing, great word usage (I had to use a dictionary many times) I think thats awesome when someone uses such detailed words to describe what they feel, it worked so well in this poem and made it simply an incredible poem! Bravo, super work here. love, ,._-=-~^* Jeremy *^~-=-_., |
