-The Light of Day- the stacks they rise, high into the sky more and more they say, more and more every day plumes of smoke rise, into the filling skies slightly harmful they say, slightly harmful they pray this we must stand, this for the good of man what could go wrong, the dinosaurs are gone we cower high within these towers we shun the light of day the holes are dug, far beneath the rug deeper and deeper they say, deeper and deeper every day the dirt piles high, it joins the sky defined to a tee, defined for you and me the proverb was said, this i've read it's been said before, on some solemn shore deep within our holes, deep within our souls we shun the light of day some changed their roles, jumped out of their holes hidden was the light, for it was night decided was the moon, it furthered the gloom it had refussed to shine, for your eyes and mine many search within, many never begin many spread wings and fly, many crash and die so they relenquish their roles, jump back in their holes we shun the light of day J.L. So many night creatures...like me. Hiding, hoping that no one sees me clearly...that I do not see myself in the light. Very good thoughts here, CD. Hardrock |

An extraordinary poem - very well written and structured - and a deep insight into our psyche thrown in makes it a great poem Deepak |
