What becomes of the soul, < !signature-->that is wrecked upon the rocks? Does it break up, and float out to sea in pieces? Does it founder on the Reef, and wear its keel to splinters? What becomes of the heart, that hits the Reef of rejection? Does it sink, in the ocean of despair? Does it bail, and manage to stay afloat? What becomes of the mind, that rides these waves of life? Click, what questions you ask ... You make it all sound so hopeless: "wrecked upon the rocks" "hits the Reef of rejection" Hmmmm. I'd say the soul realises it didn't break any bones and clambers back to shore, or maybe it gets picked up by a passing ship. And the heart, well it reels for a while, and then it changes course, gets repaired on the next shore and is good as new. And the mind that rides the waves of life gets to see the whole, world, the sky and the ocean, in all its sublime beauty and irrational terror. I really enjoyed your poem, BTW! Look to the horizon, where new worlds await ... Lotharingia "Dreams are life, reality, creation" Miguel de Unanumo |
