The vault Hinges crack as the great door closes sealed in the vacuum of life. Bolted by the rustic bones signed and sealed with scrawl on poems. It moves as it first did as it left the womb, Cords that drip of blood like life’s veins severed. The hardened frame tears forward struggling in its constraints of flesh and hair. It grinds its teeth and bites its lips drowning out the rivers. The holes it made now tiny ones, still the ropes hold fast. It scraps its nails deep and removes more by threading on broken glass. The floor it paints crimson like the messiah walking on oceans stained red. Here amongst its self-claimed carnage it bows and whispers a prayer for the dead. =================================================== Trip Glaring over time I have seen her cross the Melody. The castles have fallen down, killed in overgrowth, I settled blindfolded at the helm. she sat waiting for the chance. She begged to be for us (though never understood that) I fought by the rails and stammered on the banks. Scratch down another oak cross she enjoys splinters and the telling dust. Down this road they were sunken into the earth the creatures pinned down. Rotting out and sinking down the creatures decayed crucified for the best. Praise the God she was freed, Into my heart, here all the pins blaze across the night. I turned in fear to bleed her again and scratch behind my eyes. In there, lakes of vanity drown us out. Back to her wrapped around and holding together. Awake again to reality, it strikes a cold fear in me. =================================================== The Search It started with curiosity of questions often asked yet never answered. Locked away obsessed in my quest I buried under skin scenting it lay there deep. The hours passed as I sat hidden In the mess of unearthed memories, each one evoked a great sadness. Buried deep in ugliness soon knocked down by affliction. In my quest I lost all sight questioning everything searching for fault concluding perfection is emptiness. I am trapped in futile ugliness searching as a bitter cynic. The void swallowed my voice and took out my eyes discarding me to madness where I drown in a pit of ignorance among familiar faces ------------------------ "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. "Art is a lie which makes us realise the truth." Pablo Picasso "We Irish are too poetical to be poets, we are a nation of brilliant failures" Oscar Wilde ----- |
