I've done all I can,
To surround myself with peace,
I've tried so many things,
To find some blessed release.

Good luck charms, talisman, galore,
The Feng Shui bell on our front door,
An altar of peace in the corner of the bedroom,
Yet still my life is speckled with the dust of doom.

Quan Yin and the Laughing Buddah,
They keep me company whilst I'm on the computer,
I twirl the beads on my chinese good luck bracelet,
Yet still there is the desire to submit.

It isn't me, I've found the yearned for inner sanctum,
So why rock the foundations?
Reams of paper with writing galore,
Diaries, journals, poetry and more.

I even built the chinese yard focal point,
A place in nature when it's peace I seek,
But still the negatives try to undermine me,
And it ends in pain or confusion that I see.

With all these things and more,
I know my path is just and right,
Why then foil my plans?
Why not try to understand?

Unshared secrets, accusations, betrayl,
Why try to pull me off the rails?
Is it you are jealous of all I've become?
Is it you in fact who is coming undone?

The voices within me never lie,
They sing with me in harmony under the bluest of skies,
Together we can fly,
But still I'm left to ponder why?

Why are you this way?
What is it that hurts you so?
These and many more secrets I'm sure,
Are something I will never know.

We all have chips on our shoulders,
We all have pain within,
Yours no worse than others,
Unless you let the evil win........

~Bravo Isis,...damn gurl, Bravo!!! I especially liked these lines here..."Is it you are jealous of all I've become? Is it you in fact who is coming undone?"....You are so beautiful a person Isis, I have come to know this...seeing your eyes open to such possibilities as this,..as it not being you is so wonderful. I know that you know that (that it's not you), but just know that this poem is incredibly written. So sad that one is treated in such a manner,...all the while,...you there, grasping for peace. Take care and I try sending *Peace everytime.

Thanks Spitfire it is so nice to be understood.  To really know that people see the real me...
I try to make my life and my home a sanctum for the family, but still it is not enough, I now realise that some of it IS beyond my control.
P>S.  I am happy on this plateau and will do my damndest to stay here, I will have the peace I deserve

Oh this is great. One of your very best I think. And I can see you surrounding yourself wih all the things that are supposed to help. I have tried them all too. And I am at peace with myself in my own way also. Its the rest of the world that I don't understand. Awesome poem. So creatively expressed your situation.

Great poem! It reminded me so much of my own search for peace (so far it's fruitless) I always let the negitive stuff get to me.... This poem was very inspirational....I think I'm going to take your advice! Great poem!

Thanks Wren! I never said the journey is easy either!! LOL I believe to live a life of peace or serenity we must surround ourselves with peaceful things that inspire us and remind us of our mission. The negatives get us all knowing peace or not, the secret is to deal with the negatives and then focus on our journey again...

Isis, what a beautiful expression of "you", and thanks for sharing. Many times we carry too much of the load ourselves, and then its time to re-claim ourselves. Surrounding yourself with the positive things is helpful, and holding onto yourself is the key to that inner peace. Another wonderful piece!! I wish you nothing but happiness....
