Pain Behind the Masks of Pleasure |

I see within, within your eyes those things, the window of your soul and everything about you shows the pain that lurks within. You inner demons leap at me screaming, raving, ranting daring me to force them back knowing full well, my trouble the mask you have looses them no farther then your eyes. I would that I could reach within and pull those demons loose I wish that I could do that for you but as I reach, my hand touches your mask ending the search before it began. If only you would speak to me, and break down the mask that blocks me from those scars and wounds that we could heal, together. Alas all around me all I see are masks the frozen faces gleam at me, grinning in their fake assurance, taunting me, holding back that which I wish to know only for that I could aid you in the healing that must come. ----------------------------------- It's kind of hard to post after seeing all the great stuff everyone else does. I hope you guys like it... |

Magebeast...not only is this a great poem, it's a wonderful sentiment too. Well constructed, flows...and sends a good message. You don't take a back seat to anyone. Hardrock |

Oh, wait...I just noticed this was your first post!! Well, welcome to Dark Passions. And I must say after reading your poem, you are a most welcomed addition. Most of the family will introduce themselves...we're from all over. Some of us are a little quirky (me, for instance), but by and large, there is a lot of love here. We're so glad you came. Hi Magebeast! What a good name! And what a great poem. Hardrock is right, you really needn't be ashamed at all! The love you express for those around you is truly wonderful. I can relate, it is so nice when people remove those masks, but it is fear and anxiety that stands in the way. uta Lotharingia "Dreams are life, reality, creation" Miguel de Unanumo |

Is it our inherent need for peace that seduces us into loving those who cannot bear to...? Tortuous introduction...Welcome. |

Thanks Everybody. I'm okay now. Keep in mind the first few poems I post are about 2 months old. Additionally, I'm a moody person, and I'm what you might call an inspired writer. So I'll have an hour or a day where I'm feelin' bad, and I write something... |

I have posted a poem somewhat similar to yours. You use words in such a way that makes the reader wanting more. Keep up the good work. Ronil (What I say I live by and what I live by is what I create). |
