The gods call me anathema, we're back from Valhala an effigy strung up high from the gallows pole. Now I go by no name so your storybooks read I'm every mans shame, shame ,shame, crouching under his bed. I'm Anathema Set me an extra place at the table pull up a chair for the candlemass feast. Framed invitations hang in your archives now am I welcomed? No, not in the least I'm Anathema The soilders came to stare me down, like a cockatrice Eat the apple, rape the virgin, this must be paradise let temptation run it's course, the gods will reject with a new starvation for conversation, not one soul to infect I'm Anathema The gods call me Anathema, we're back from Valhala an effigy strung up high from the gallows pole I'll be long since forgotten, all gods disapear out of touch, deaf, dumb, and numb, I don't speak. I don't hear. I'm Anathema Set an extra place at he table pull up a chair for the candlemass feast framed invitations hang in your archives noe am I welcomed? No, not int the least. I'm Anathema speak my name in vain. |

Michael...this word is rarely used, and even then usually used incorrectly. Some books of mythology even delete it...lest it bring forth the evil that accompanies it. Nice, dark piece here...enjoyed it. Hardrock |

Whew, very dark and scary. Sounds to me that it was written by Satan. Is that right? This was written so well, very good poem. |

I agree with everyone, deep dark tones here, just exceptional writing!!! The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose...--Hada Bejar |

I really loved it...the mythology part was cool...along with your, as others have said, use of 'anathema' -Dan |

I quite liked this piece. I particularly liked the uneven rhyme scheme. The subject matter was well handled and compelling. Anathema can also mean opposite or contradictory, even reviled. It all fits. |
