The Boarding House I should build a boarding house, For all who’ve hurt and pained. A place to lock ourselves away, And have our hearts retrained. A place of sun and flowers fresh, A place of joy and song. A place to give our souls a rest, To help our hearts be strong. Love takes its toll on those of us Whose spirit’s seen hard times. We need a place to find some peace, And put our heart to rhymes. We need this place to get away, And breathe a different air. To rest a spell and shed a tear, And find some comfort there. I’ll hire Isis as my architect, And see just what she fashions. And when it’s done, I’ll move right in, And call the place Dark Passions. What’s that you say, it’s been done? There’s nothing left to do? Well, no need to build another one, So I’ll stay here with you. So if your heart is tired and sore, Your life is filled with gloom.
