This is a song for my band that I wrote. Right now it is only in the lyrical stage, but hopefully soon we will have some music to go along with it. Familiar Face You say two minds Are always better than one But I say that one mind Has never done me any wrong How can I trust anybody That I don’t recognize Give me a choice to pick a face And I’ll always choose mine Turn around and go back To where you came from Should of known you were coming Never had a chance to run By now you should of seen the signs That were placed in front of you I don’t need anybody Except for myself Waking up alone is always blinding But waking up at all is always frightening There are many things I’d like to do If I only knew you But I don’t know how Maybe someday You could be A familiar face to me too I knew that you thought You were the only one But I hope now you’ve caught The idea I threw at you That my heart never would part For anyone else but me I know our times were always strong But you were never the only one And neither was she Waking up alone is always blinding But waking up at all is always frightening There are many things I’d like to do If I only know you But I don’t know how Maybe someday You could be A familiar face to me too Hopefully someday You could be A familiar face to me too |

~Yes, yes,...please keep us informed. This poem made me think of a time that I went through (which seemed like forever)..where I didn't want anyone but me...and I didn't want to get close to anyone or share myself because I never wanted to feel the loss in the end. It all happened after two of my good friends passed away,..in a terrible car accident. Anyway,...I didn't want to be close to anyone,..or love anyone that way I would never feel that again. Ok, I'll shut up because this has nothing to do with your wonderful piece of poetry. BUT,...this is what it stirred in me, so I thought I'd let you know. The reference being to always choosing you. Anyhow,... I believe these to be very cool lyrics for a song, and if this be your own personal story,...then I hope that the one spoken of turns out as you wish. ??? Heck,.... I don't know what I'm saying...see what a song (poem) can do to you...I'm all fuzzy now...thinking about what this brought on for me. Hell,..ok I'll stop. I enjoyed it.
