I will gather roses at noon And sugar-sweet chrysanthemums So I can place them on your tomb Why is the light So bright, mummy And those faces I don't recognise They follow me Mummy can I hide Under your skirts Where it is warm Where they will lie and comfort you While you sleep your endless dream Of butterflies and honey dew Mummy, let me cry for a while Wait until the storm Of fiery eyes Has swept over us Mummy, will we still be alive When the wind has died tonight And if you ever should wake up You will know for sure That in my field of buttercups I will wait for you forever more < !signature--> Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland [This message has been edited by lotharingia (edited 07-13-2000).] |
