The callousness of a marriage has taken its toll. I can't make myself love you, this I know. I'm yearning for so much fufillment inside. Cried so many tears and run out of places to hide. I think you still love me, though I'm not sure. I'm struggling to get love back, but don't know the cure. How long can I go on living this lie? Pretending there's something there when there's nothing inside. I just don't know anymore, I don't know. I wish in my heart, someway, YOU could let ME go. The future's so uncertain, yet I'm holding the key. Do I speak the words and let myself be free? Or do I stay in a marriage of never was? In the hopes of doing right by children who wouldn't understand the cause. As I struggle with these feelings every day, I wish to God they'd just go away. I wish that God had some quick answer for me. Because I just can't seem to get back what used to be. |

I openly admit to a marriage of many re-negotiations, seperations, and the struggle to re-capture. My heart goes out to you, Ive been there, and I hope there is resolution soon for you. A well written expression of true emotions!! My best to you, Deb |

Oh, I inderstand every bit of this poem. I am right there with you. I have several poems about the same subject. I especially like the words "I wish YOU could let ME go". It's so hard to have to find the words to end something, even when it ended itself a long time ago. I feel for you. The poem itself was beautiful, and the feeling so raw. I hope for the best for you, and whatever decision you make. Sandra |

Sooner or later....those are your choices. But there are no backups or U-turns in life...you gotta make a decision and just keep moving forward. This poem works for men too...I should know. Nice. Hardrock |

The questions you put here are difficult indeed, and as Hardrock says, only you can find the answer. My only suggestion is to try to put yourself in your partner’s position: would you want someone to stay with you, even if they didn’t love you anymore, or would you prefer to go through the pain of a separation, but then still have the possibility of finding love elsewhere? Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

Catalinamoon/Sandra-Thank you for sharing your feelings. I appreciate. Hardrock-You're so right, I think the decision is right there if I listen to my heart. I justhave to decide the sooner or later part. Spitfire-Thank you for your uplifting words, they are appreciated. lotharingia-Your question brings a new perspective to light, thank you for sharing these thoughts. |
