"watashi...." silence silence as strong as smothering as divine as the heat of us As we lie together Next to destiny "watashi....." your lips quiet mine yet inflame my mind as your fingers trace the map of my soul walk the road to my heart "watashi...." Your eyes are always closed to the possibilitys of yourself "watashi......." "watashi......." "shhhh.....be quiet...." Who are you to tell me to be quiet? Let me hold you when you tell me that.... Night has darkened the sky There is no moon Oyasuminasai |

I take it "watashi" and "Oyasuminasai" are Japanese? Since I'm not very good at that language , I have no idea what they mean. However, the words sound lovely, from the context, I imagine "watashi" to be whispered. This poem is divinely sensual: simply beautiful! Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

Thank you! Yes..."watashi" and "oyasuminasai" are Japanese - good guess! My Japanese is very limited, but I love the language and I wanted to use some of it in a poem. "watashi" is actually a simple word, it means "I". I wanted the speaker to be on the verge of saying something very important, but being silenced. I also imagined the word as being wispered...very quiet and pretty. The word "oyasuminasai" means "goodnight" -Wren |

I am glad I had the explanation to read along with the poem... made it more enjoyable than having to wonder...lol... very soothing words Jamie Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito. - Virgil. "Yield thou not to adversity, but press on the more bravely". |

hey--I like this one. It has so many beautiful descriptions of loving your partner...you paint a picture in my mind, which means you are an effective writer! I like "your lips quiet mine/yet inflame my mind" - my favorite lines. Good piece "We have all these galaxies inside of us. And if we don't enter those in art, then I don't understand the point in doing anything."-Sam Shepard |

*sigh* I loved it! As I read it I felt my breath caught on the edge of saying something... "damn..." "I'm sorry for telling u love was unnecessary... making u lose ur way. I'm sure I'll be as sad as u feel." ~Touch and Go |
