It is a small thing stealthily creeps you realize your muse is gone it wears no wing but bears "cat feet" you know you've lost the gift of song poetic voice stilled silence growing can you find a pretty word to say? heart is chilled and misty, knowing behind you is your writer's day do not drift o, pretty muse stay and guide my hand and mind leave no rift between, refuse me not. I've had no sweeter find. |

Oh I so agree. I wrote a little one on this subject recently, its so important to us all to write, and when its a day that nothiing comes out, its so fruustrating. Beautifully put as well. "If a man moves you to feel like a woman, the least you can do is let him." Merrit Malloy |

Portia, What a fantastic poem! The muse, inspiration, or whatever we might call it, certainly will be honoured by your serene verse. My muse is a bright red Mexican demon with curved angel's wings and crescent devil's horns, who prays, I know not to whom, on top of my monitor. As always, it is a pleasure to read your work! Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

Wonderful poem, I don't know if I have a muse. I think I am mainly my own muse, it is ecomonical. LOL. anyway loved the poem, I hate when the rivers of inspiration run dry. "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else" faster-Manic street preachers. |

leave no rift between, refuse me not. I've had no sweeter find. I especially like this lat stanza. Very beautiful, intriguing subject. |

When my muse leaves, I prefer to think she has gone off to get some more good stuff to write about...but then again??? But you describe it very well, Portia. Hardrock |
