I sit and think of what to convey While I watch the boats float by in the bay It really is a beautiful day Though I'm stuck at work, I hate to say Alison I have a thing or two That I would like to say to you With all of your adventures and things you do Remember one thing, always be true Sometimes life's hard and down right tough And the road ahead may still be rough But negative feelings you must now slough So keep your chin up and don't sweat the small stuff Some dudes are cruel and some are coy Find yourself a man and not a boy For if you're merely just a toy It is your love that they will destroy So live your life and have some fun And enjoy your moment in the sun Just don't forget dear Alison Always finish what you've begun G. A. Webb Regret not that which you have done, Rather that which you haven't |

Ok, this is the one I wrote for Alison, Amber's roommate. Like I said, it's more or less advice from a friend or brother. I hope you like it. G< !signature--> Regret not that which you have done, Rather that which you haven't [This message has been edited by G. A. Webb (edited 07-07-2000).] |

Very nice......and wise words they are. Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility. -William Wordsworth- |

What a lovely poem to write for your friend! I'm glad she liked it! Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

Thank you all, I'm glad you liked this piece. I think this piece could apply to anybody, male or female, I just happened to use a female as my subject matter. As far as these being wise words, I don't know about that. I consider them to be more like common sense. Anyways, thank you all again. I look forward to reading more of your works. Take care!
