I know the beating Of your heart. I held it once Within my hand, And knew too well The meaning Of its restless pulse... Your dream drenched eyes That looked in mine With longing, Could not hide The reflection Hidden in their depths Of greater things Than I. Your hands Tho' tight they clasped Within their strength My own, Spoke mutely In their eagerness, Of a long And last Farewell. |

This poem is excellent Rex! In fact, the beginning reminded me of an incident with my printer - regarding a heart operation... But obviously, the poem has greater meaning. Great read! |
