In the Light of the Road Spinning in the light of the road, hearing her song being echoed. She's slipping for the scent. Racing with the storms past, trying to catch up too fast. She's skipping through her dreams. Single footed hops on by, smiling up to the sky. Twirling for the moon. She dances with the driver's coat, her thoughts seeping begin to float. She's singing for the wind. She's spinning in the light of the road, stepped into the defense mode. She's kissing you goodbye. [This message has been edited by SpitFire (edited 07-04-2000).] |

And she's got one hand in her pocket and with the other one she's waving goodby....Spitfire, I really like this. It has a kind of Alanis Morrisette feel to it. Beautiful imagery here. Hardrock |

I really like this one too. It's great Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

I just had to come back to this one again...I just really, really like it. I can just see her there....spinning, dancing, smiling...then a quick kiss goodby..."dancing with the driver's coat"...such an image. This is great, SpitFire. Hardrock |

Bravo SpitFire! Very well done. I especially liked the twist at in end with the good bye. That sent a chill down my spine. Again, well done thanks for sharing this. G Regret not that which you have done, Rather that which you haven't |

Forgive me for being naive - but Spitfire - who is "She"? I dont seem to be able to get the exact meaning which I KNOW you have artfully concealed within the lines. Deepak |

~Well,..."she" would be me. hehe. Uuummm,...as for the meaning??? Well, it's all there pretty much. Smiling and dancing in the road while at the same time trying to get over the storms of her past that are underneath the smiles, the driver's coat?...well I'll leave that untouched, but kissing goodbye is her letting go. Hope that helps,...most times things just fall out of my head and I try figuring out what it all means myself. haha. Thanks for reading. To everyone too....thank you. *Peace. |

SF, I can see you there. Lovely images my friend. This was beautiful. LW Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility. --William Wordsworth |

Hi, I had missed this one too. (I get too catch up when I use the work computer..LOL) Well, as everyone has said already, this was just great. Imagery very strong. I love all your poems. Catalinamoon "If a man moves you to feel like a woman, the least you can do is let him." Merrit Malloy |
