Everyday I come here Click the post topic button And hope I can write For some reason Everyday it becomes harder and harder To write I am so young I wanna write forever Not loose it now I have to express myself It is my way to show the world Who I am I truly can't live without my writing For a long time I took it for granit I never realized how inportant it was Now when I can't write I spend hours trying So now I am just hoping to write -Neala (Goddess of Sadness) |

We've all felt this way! I have a good book called "Creating Poetry" by John Drury. When I find I'm out of inspiration, I open it and do one of the 'exercises'...it does help! |

love the poem and if by what you mean when you say its hard to write it won't let you or its slow i get that to. but anyway i love your work and your not alone we all sometimes have a hard time writing when i do i go to my own little place about five miles in the woods from my house to a lake and sit there and get ideas. enjoyed this much. I'm a dying romantic and when i can no longer write i can no longer live -Jeremiah Johnson- |

Neala I have written a few by clicking the post button and starting to write but most of them are written away from the keyboard...there are certain times of the day or night when my mind is more creative...sometimes right after an incident has happened and sometimes while I'm driving my car (please don't attempt to do that), or in the grocery store, or at the park, while listening to music, I have woke up in the middle of the night with ideas, and even at work, or who knows when, but the thoughts will come to my mind, and not necessarily the entire poem, but the ideas for a poem, so I will write down those ideas and work with them later when I have more time, so I am trying to keep a notebook with me with little success, so like today I wrote a few ideas on the JC Penny's shopping bag on my way home from lunch, the beach, and the mall. Hope you have good writing...James |

Neala, you know the difference when your inspired and when you have to force it. So don't force it, only write when you feel like it. not when you don't. I take breaks, and my writing seems to improve. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

Oh Neala, please don't worry I have days when I cannot put the words on a piece of paper if someone offered me money to do it, then other time it just comes flowing out. I agree with everyone it will happen when we are ready, and keep writing, love to hear from you!!! |

Oh Neala, all writers those who do it as a hobby or the professionals have days where the words simply don't come. You cannot and shouldn't force it, there I agree with Joel. Just leave it a day or two then try again. Also having a poetry notebook is always a good idea, then if you have an idea, no matter where you are you can jot it down and work on it later when you have time. Don't worry the words will flow again I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn..... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Dear Neala Dont worry - it will come pouring out one of these days. The book I got published poured out in 30 days flat - after a dry spell of over 2 years when I did not write a word!!! Just dont stress yourself out Deepak |

Neala, I can really relate to this. When you start writing the poems just flow out, everytime you pick up a pen a poem is almost certain to written. As you go on you begin to find it harder to write things, you seemed have exhausted all your ideas. It does get harder to write for awhile and you may never write as many poems in the same space of time as you did when you first started. These dry periods are good for a number reasons, 1. they allow you to re-read and edit old poems, 2. they give you thinking time. anyway, the important thing is to develop your style experiment and read, research learn and have fun. You will have more dry periods but usually at the end of them come the best poems. thanks for sharing.
