Why is changing your heart a sin? What if you are improving your heart? That ain't a sin that is a blessing!? Interesting thoughts, and true that we must be true to ourselves first and always.. Good stuff ![]() I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn..... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

ok any poem to do with identity brings this quote to mind. I should probably just use this as my signature again. here goes. "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting. " E.E Cummings. Yes always be true to yourself but never be afraid to improve. Really enjoyed your poem. A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry |

it is true that some think that change is bad, however,I think change is what makes us grow...you have good advice weaved within a poem. good work "We have all these galaxies inside of us. And if we don't enter those in art, then I don't understand the point in doing anything."-Sam Shepard |

I know what you mean. Pretending to be what you are not, lying to yourself just makes you unhappy. But I also agree with the others, we should always remain self critical and try to improve our ways, in so far as that is possible. Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

I really like this, I think being true to ourselves brings about changes..but then we are still true to ourselves by growing...Nicely put |

this really made me think, and I thought about how when we lie to our souls, that brings death, and that change is good as long as it is our true selves. good piece Jeremiah. You left me, sweet, two legacies,- a legacy of love A Heavenly Father would content, Had He the offer of; Emily Dickinson |
