Bought and Sold She was bought and sold. So unaware,...she never knew, never saw the lifestyle's effects. She was tricked into love so black, blindfolded from truth. Fell as hard as she could, living it...loving it ...this new life. Masquerading around, trying to hide the old, that still scarred her face... her heart deep inside. Purple stains of anger... swirling, twirling, encircling her. Broken face of an angel... soul severely damaged. She was bought and sold...... without even knowing. |

Elegant, yet tragic. Very nice. "Purple stains of anger" is such a lovely phrase. |

Wow. There's a lot here. My own interpretation does not necessarily involve the "oldest profession." But still, there is more here than one can describe with words. Wonderful work. |

This is tragic but oh so true. Bits of it remind me of someone very close to me. Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

WOW SPitfire, I can relate in a small way to this, when I was younger I felt like a stepping stone, used then left in friendships. It hurts a lot when things like that happen. Raw emotions, powerful verse. excellent piece. I hope this is not autobio. ------------------------ "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. manic street preachers "Culture Alienation Borebom and Despair" "I know I believe in nothing but it is my nothing" -faster MSP "And you see, I kind of shiver to conformity Did you see, the way I cower to authority, you see And my life, it's a series of compromises anyway It's a sham, and I'm conditioned to accept it all, you see" six by Paul Draper. ----- |

Oh sweet girl, you have out done yourself in this, I've always felt empathy for this, never indulged, my heart was always there for them. knowing full well what we must do to survive at times and not knowing the price nor how we got there, "blindfolded from the truth" Mostly by our own hands, closing our eyes placing a cloth across. very heartfelt kid. very. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |
