I made a difference in someone's life yesterday,
Did you?
I made her feel loved and secure?
And you?

You did nothing,
You hurt someone (usually me) each day,
But my feelings don't count do they?
My words don't count either I have nothing to say.

But that is where you are wrong,
I have a voice that needs to speak out,
My words help and make a difference,
It has become a way of life, have no doubt.

All that makes me,
Is nothing to you,
All I have achieved,
Only brings out the jealousy in you.

I could never play the flute good enough,
Nor when I sang on stage,
My poetry is only so so,
I've got wrinkles I'm starting to age!

I help others though you think less of them,
I am always there, I'm always a friend,
I'm a wonderful mother,
Far better than any you've known..

I'm crafty too don't forget that,
How many times have I saved you money,
How many times have I stopped the embarrassment,
So much it's almost funny.

Each year in my life,
I have achieved,
Can you say the same,
And can we believe?

I shant be destroyed,
It is something I cannot allow,
You nearly succeeded once,
I nearly threw in the towel.

Never again,
Can't you understand?
I will live and continue to love,
Without help for I can STAND.

And STAND I will.....

DKW thanks hon! I have fought long and hard for the strength I have now, it's always an ongoing battle... but it's worth it for me to 'keep and protect' me...

Well said, well spoken.
The courage to stand up on your own should never be taken, the realization of this is what makes you a MUCH STRONGER INDIVIDUAL.

It is encouraging see poems like yours.

Thanks Deverone!! I mean that, it touches my heart, that people do appreciate my poems with their inspirational themes, they could so easily be not wanted here in Dark. I like to think they make a little difference sometimes
