today

sounds the silent call
sitting in the emptiness
valued not at all

graven images
mind carved, likeness of happy
moments, last visit

no words, only thoughts
rising to touch the cold name
stoned in silent call

"The worst prison would be a closed heart".
...Pope John Paul II

don't know exactly what to say to this one,get so tired of using the same ole worn out phrases, but i really liked it regardless. Liked the simplicity and the coolness of it.

you presented the mood well,

I've had to read this a few times to try and delve into the meaning.. and I'm still struggling.. , but the words are so very haunting.  I especially liked the ending..
"words, only thoughts
rising to touch the cold name
  stoned in silent call"

Very thought provoking, I must say!

Swamp¤Faeryie- these were haikus or senryus (5-7-5 syllable lines)depending on whether you took them as nature or otherwise..it is my father's birthday today and I was thinking about my visit to the cemetery..thus the coldness and the stone..and the silent call to me...besides being on frozen ground...thank you for reading and responding.

~Wynter

Z...well you know how these visits go...you can't really be happy about them and even less so at this time in my life..thank you dear one

Sheila- had  sort of a double meaning here...but  for me to know and really no one else...thanks for trying though

Wynter, have you been reading Shakespeare. you know "Now is the winter of my regret, of passions unfelt and persons unmet, the losses and scars pile on my heart, when will I new living to start."

Loved your Haikus, so cool, so cold.
