Daddy's lost
where did he go?
the man that taught me
to share  
to care
to respect others
and how grow
How  to forgive
and be forgiven and have
compassion for one another

How to Love and  have patience
and understanding too.
How to be a friend
when I didnt have a clue

How to be honorable and honest
and how to be strong
without hurting another
as I traveled along

But who is this man
thats taken his place
fussing and cursing and
turning red in the face.

Holding grudges with babies
that love him so dear
that are waiting
for him to show them
what is not clear.

He gave me character
as he watched me grow.

Arguing with the children
that only want to be near.
Where did he go
I cant find him here.

Where is the laughter
and that wonderful smile.
Id promise him anything
if he would come back for awhile.

My Daddy is lost
and I am in fear
I will never find him
the man I hold so dear.

I love you Daddy
I just want that much to be clear.
