I wait for the day
when he will be mine
silently hoping
he will leave her in time

for it is i he loves
and only me
he does not love her
how could that be

i am the one that can see
the man in  there
I am the one he wants
Life can be so unfair

I Wait patiently for his return
and never complain
I am always selfless
never treat her with disdain

For one day he will be mine
don't you agree self
Mine and only mine
I won't be on the back shelf

what do you say self
what words of wisdom do you speak
Don't you have anything to say
or are you just to weak

"you are to blind"says self
"your eyes do not see"
"He's not leaving her
he is just playin with thee"

Do yourself a favor
close the  damn door
Love is so blind and
I don't want to see this any more

Hi Suzanne,

If only we "love not with the eyes, but with the mind" ... =)
Really diggin' the title ... shakespeare ... i am a big fan ...

By the way, this was a great piece of work. It really got me ... esp in the these lines ...

'Do yourself a favor
close the  damn door
Love is so blind and
I don't want to see this any more'

Cheers!

Suzanne Arlene:

This poem is so beatifully sad if there is such a thing. You can really feel your pain, I know how it is to love someone when they don't love you back! I like how you quesioned your self in the poem...its easy to belive that something is true if you want it badly enough. Take care.

Thank you so much for your responses. The poem itself was written with a friend of mine in mind  not actually myself. I wanted her to question herself.I wanted her to see that loving a married man is sometimes a dead end road. But alas Love is Blind  and it does not see everything. And sometimes what we do see we choose to ignore. Thank you again Suzanne

Suzanne:

Your welcome. Also good luck to your friend. That was nice of you to do that for her, but like you said love is blind. Take care.
