The Big Smile
awaits you
In this Wonderful Future
TV tells you
We Are All SO Happy
We live such wonderful lives.

But don't you know
It's all crap
And lies?

I hope so

well...I'm a little slow...but yes, I am figuring this one out...and it goes far beyond that...(as to what is 'you', and what is the mind's indoctrination)...kind of a disquieting moment of realization.

Thank you, m'friend. I am so glad to see you post again!!!!

i'm young, but i've certainly known for many a year what a farce life is. or rather the people that live them, there now,i won't get on my soap box about social hypocrisy, all i really came to say was that you've written a profound and meaningful poem. Short and sweet and you tell it just like it is. well done.

Can I get an "AMEN" from the congregation?  Short, sweet, to the point, and SO true!  Excellent!

The illusion television creates is crap and lies certainly.  We can't solve our dilemma's in half an hour like The Brady Bunch or Gilligan's Island. LOL

The thing they don't 'show' you is the hard work, trial and error, emotions etc, in every day life.  All we can do is struggle on to the best of our capabilities.

Not everything by any means will go our way, but if we are true, loving and keep the faith, in the end hopefully good things WILL come our way.

Great thoughts here

This was such a pure poem. It reeked truth! I loved it!

this is a well layed out short poem.  but there is not much emotion in the poem for me.
this guy also seems to be the kind of person that hides himself with different personalities of masks as i like to call him it also seems that he wants to write this kind of peotry.  well that is my thought,  tell me what you think e-mail mebye

I don't know about that crazy Mike above, but allan, this was very truthful..and not just tv and the media..we are all brought up thinking that life will  be filled with joy...and we can work for anything we want ..yet  the struggle sometimes isn't worth it...crap and lies..much of it..at least now it is to me, since my glass house shattered..
Try to have a wonderful holiday season..

mikey, I'll have to ponder a bit longer on your words - I don't discard them - I never do that, but the meaning will sink in slowly I'm sure

nakedthoughts, thanks muchly, I'm so sorry your glass house shattered - sometimes I feel as if I move from one shattered glasshouse to another! Life is hard - I didn't realise that when I was a kid - unfortunately I never quite stopped being a kid (for better or for worse!)

I feel the emotion in your comment and feel a kindred spirit. I wish you everything good in this emotional season (forgive me if I'm a bit emotional too - had 5 little glasses of schnapps before I left work tonight...

And DopeyDope - thanks for your comment - that made me feel very good too

allan,
You are right it is crap and lies, BUT without some crap and lies we'd implode or explode.
