Many years ago I built this wall Protecting myself from the pain of the fall Chasing away the love that others gave Resting silently in my darkened cave Little did I realize that one day ... He would come along with so much to say Taking my hand and holding me tight Showing me his love in so many ways Yet my heart was protected I had created so many fears I wanted to love him But shed only tears Break down this wall And let him in I cant let him go His love I must win Why did I build it? So strong and so bold Shatter it to pieces For I am lonely and cold Just let me touch him To feel love so true I never had that feeling My skys were never blue Give me just a second To let him love me Before the wall goes back up And be alone for an eternity That "darn" wall gets in the way so often!  But this time I am fighting it.  This time, I shall touch the love and hold it close to my heart!No person is worth your tears, and the only one that is ...... will never make you cry |

"Give me just a second To let him love me Before the wall goes back up And be alone for an eternity" <-- love these lines. We are often damned by those walls we build, thinking they are for protecting us and rarely realizing that they are imprisoning us instead. Fight it, and you will see that though there is pain aplenty, there is also love and we always need to remember to grasp each and every moment of love we can and hold on to it dearly. And then, only then, we can survive the pain. With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free.. dragonpoe |

Yes, that is the one problem that most humans face. We learn too much from experience, and overcompensate too often. I hope you are successful in fighting the wall and shattering it. But may I suggest simply relaxing and letting it go... That may be difficult at first, but it can also be effective. |
