As I stare at the pristine white oblivion, pure delight. To another time... in trance for a moment by chance. Longing, desires for a moment set aflame small fires. Sighing, for what i do not know mercy oh i do just go with the flow. Tell you my wants how i truly feel? if you break my heart would i ever heal? ~ Tara ~ 2nd November 2000 After a comment from a friend, some clarification may be needed with this poem. In regards to the pristine white... I am actually referring to a clean white piece of paper... that pristine white one encounters just before they madly start scribbling away into, sometimes, that other world of make-believe ![]() < !signature--> "A poem should not mean, but be" - Archibald MacLeish [This message has been edited by taramw (edited 11-26-2000).] |

I enjoyed this piece. Ronil (The sweet sound of summer sends serenity through my soul searching for that evermore solitude.) |

This was truly beautiful. I love to write too. I know the feeling here very well. Great work! It seems that all the world is hell, sometimes, but that white sheet of paper can change all that, and the world can, for a time, be heaven. |

Tara, Well done! You've captured the happiness as well as the trepidation that writers feel when faced with that "pristine white oblivion". I am often asked "Why do you write?" The answer I give - "because I have to". Writing is the only way that I can show my true thoughts and feelings. It's an exquisite release tinged with the fear that through my words I am exposing myself. Your poem describes it beautifully. - Jeff |
