I hold you in my arms Yet I feel the void grow That empty space in your heart Where I once dwelled Though your flesh is warm I feel only the chill of your disdain Yes! Roll away, roll away and let me be Let me drift back into the emptiness That darkness that was once our love "The heart and soul have no illusion of boundries when friendship is the quest" ~ My Angel. |

Eagle One...your poem instantly grabbed me... the second line in particular.. and then these: I feel only the chill of your disdain Yes! Roll away, roll away and let me be excellent work, really well done - and it's a rare occasion to find a poem that 'speaks' to me so..  KThe wind shifts like this: Like a human without illusions... As I read your peom, it touched my heart...because it's very close to my relationship with my hubby right now. "That empty space in your heart where I once dwelled Though your flesh is warm I feel only the chill of your disdain" The title drew me in and I thought "he's writing about me."
