A lonely heart, weeping soul Bound in the chains of grief Blind it seems, darkness takes it's toll Could the reaper bring relief? Death, she courts, this and every night Though he knows not love Only to take a soul, leave a heart to die But still she waits... The glinting love of admiring eyes Would fade into the black of mourning Were she to take his hand this night The hearts of more than one would die Were she to look into the eyes of truth She would plainly see Death can't grant the freedom she seeks The face of death oblivious to all, but eternity The voice of hidden love cries out Deny him this mortal sin Deny him as you deny yourself As you deny me.... If I were to take the hand of death instead Would she hear my fleeting cry from the black? Could there be seen upon her cheek A welcome tear for this loveless angel? Death may take our souls But our love will stay forever in our hearts Refuse the hand of death Reveal the hidden love, the dark kisses within... |
