Deafening was the roar of silence spoke between us.
Shards, razor edged, dissected my very soul,
With surgeon precision from my being,
All with a granite stare.
An exhale of breath, forced with disgust,
Escaped from her,
A contemptuous sigh,
Tainting the air of illusions we had danced on,
No longer a ballet of hearts,
But rather a duel of aversion.
Disenchanted by dreams abandoned at the wayside,
Left to rot as mold upon month old bread,
No longer a sustenance, but refuse, to be discarded,
We turned away from each other.
Each seeking an avenue of retreat,
To find a sanctuary from this brooding distaste.
I sought the shadows,
She another man’s arms.

Tossing words like wishful coins into the deep well of an open heart. R. fox

I see you followed my advice on your signature Ron????
Another wonderous work of a foolish lady from your past, well you know it's her loss.

Amazing, Ron, are you sure you weren't in the same room with me, when this was happening, almost exactly as you describe. You have a great way with words. I so enjoy your poems. Even though they make me feel the sadness that is in my heart.

Gee!!! This topic is highly avoided by me. Not one i like to discuss, nor muse over.

So i'll just prance off in my field of dreams thinking everything is just peachy keen.

Great job expressing though....
