Can a person feel the heat
From a flame they've never seen?
Can you really touch the face...
Of someone on a movie screen?

Have you ever dreamt
A dream that was so real?
Never wanting to wake up...
From a fantasy you could feel

Have you tasted the kiss
From lips you cannot see?
Feeling the breath of a lover
Who isn't yet a reality?

Did you ever feel so close
To something so far away
Knowing they will be there
When you wake up one day...

Have you ever heard a voice
That was like a sweet symphony?
Have you dreamt of their arms?
Where you long to be...

I have.

A perfect summation Beth - From the first line to the very last, and all between... I have felt and I understand. Poignant feelings, loving thoughts and a hint of painful longing. Nothing bad can be said about this. I too have touched my screen, wishing the face on the other side would materialize beneath my fingers, so I could caress and feel the reality...

Peaceful smiles...

YES, YES, YES......FELT IT ALL! But you put it into words so wonderfully!  This was a great work. I enjoyed it very much, especially the mild (yet screaming out!) "sense of desperation" this gave off.  Thanks for sharing.

Wow, great piece of work and it perfectly describes something we all feel at times. I really enjoyed reading it. It was simple, yet intriguing. =)< !signature-->

to dream of a touch,
a scent, a kiss so light,
to be held so close,
throughout the night,
to awaken at morning,
at a new days door,
awaiting night,
to dream some more.

Sorry I am late in replying. I always want to be the first one to reply but I cannot. I love your writings. Amazing as always.

Oh wow...this was an awesome poem! I think we have all felt these feelings before...  And the way you portray them is excellent.
