Eyes of panther jade stalk the night Grayness of skies become puce In the midnight hour Moonlight is a bandit hiding behind the mask of lust Naked she creeps as the lavaliere of a raven glistens between her breasts Voyeur shadows entangles within the jungle of stars She follows the wings of a raven to the lagoon of the abyss Drowning within the blood of the night A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) |
