Better This Way?? lives torn apart conversations never heard hearts divided dissenting into reality without a cushion only reality to crash into then I see my life as it truly is with you without you which is the better? go this way I say today I need you! tomorrow I don't? this is the way I seek heart and mind racing towards you away from you which way? what is better I ask yours? mine? ours? theirs? I have no way to see this mist is so heavy clouding my vision my breath is heavy I grasp for the answers your not there now so where from here? is it better this way? hell no! I cry out and you cry too we both cry out souls in torment languished by doubt failure overtook us and our every intent then why do we agree yet violently disagree and fulfill this final decree? to let this be the final sigh hurt word to agree? what a tragedy! if it were this decree and the defining well we are left with what is it we see what is our fate what is our better way to be? between you and me? This piece of paper saying we will never be again as one? how CAN WE? when our love is still alive a vow kept sacred so loudly spoken? given as a passionate token! now crippled and broken so we fall to ourselves we let the lie come in the one that says better this way? who says? not us why fall to this? why fuss? about the hassles we face the ones that leave this trace of pain, and failure we hear this said so much we face but we are meant like those who went this same road we will stand and not be sold to the lie we have been told so this is the way I go I say NO! time to go back to the road that brought us here this time we will find the signs and the times of each others hearts it is better THIS way yes together my partner, my friend the one on who I depend so the plan unfolds as my heart is told we will stay! so much better this way! than the way out you will be there my lover, friend and my spouse forever is forever BETTER THIS WAY!!!!!!!!!!! Illusion...this is a great poem..funny - reality never does seem to throw out any cushions does it? The transition here is well executed, and the ending was much different than I expected. In a good way! A poem to refute divorce...well done... K "He looked across the silky surface of the Severn... it was a famously difficult river with fierce tides..." From Jack Maggs |

Well, that was quite a saga, and it looks like a happy ending. Thank you for showing that some endings can begin again. Nice work. Catalinamoon |
