The one born without the guiding star,
The one who forgets to see and feel,
The one who's life hangs until the next kill!

I saw the signs but chose to ignore them,
With childish hopes and dreams,
Little did I know you'd tear my very existance apart,
Tear from seam to seam.

Petty jealousies,
Knowing no reasons or rights,
Why must it all be this way?
Why must everything be a fight?

Not liking your life in the shadows,
Yet still refusing to step into the sun,
Even forgetting how to laugh for real,
Your being exposed, dying and undone.

If only I'd remembered sooner,
And saved us all the bother,
Saved me and mine from a tortuous journey,
I've learned enough to never be fooled by another.
