Surpassed the rest
By far the best
No longer will I wallow
I shot the dove
A flame of love
So cold and dark and hollow

Suddenly
It seems to me
I find a heart so tender
From fantasy flight
I steal some light
With words that I will send her

I'll call the moon
To make her swoon
And lean in my direction
Then like a dart
I'll take her heart
To keep in my protection

In a fleeting glance
I have a chance
To prove what I could be
A poet's word
Sometimes absurd
Is what I'll let her see

I do not jest
I've passed the test
And found a road to follow
When life will shove
I'll rise above
And find the heart I swallow

This was neither for or about anybody. It was just some thoughts passing through my mind.

I, too, marvel at the thoughts running through your mind!  Regardless, I would love to be on the receiving end of a piece as this!!    Great work!
